Make a Change. Make a Difference. Make it Right.

I'm Gonna Make A Change,
For Once In My Life
It's Gonna Feel Real Good,
Gonna Make A Difference
Gonna Make It Right . . .
- Michael Jackson

Do you want to make change by doing something that will make you feel feel good, make a difference and be right thing to do? If the answer is yes, then I would like to ask for your help in the fight against breast cancer.

As I know, I have been fundraising to help support the California Breast Cancer Research Program and their efforts to eliminate this horrible disease. As a result of the generosity of my donors, I have been able to achieve more than 80% of my personal fundraising goal. If you would like to make a contribution or know somebody that does, please visit my personal fundraising page at https://secure2.merchantcart.net/runsfm//MyWebPage.cfm?pID=377511. Please donate whatever your heart feels like giving. Any and all amounts will be greatly appreciated. PLEASE NOTE: Donations will only be accepted until Friday, August 7, 2009.

Your contribution will help change and make a difference in the lives of so many men and women that are affected by breast cancer.

Thank you so very much for the support!

Carbo Load Starts Today

Carbo Load for Saturday's 13 Mile Run
~*~Run Mel Run~*~

"Do you run the whole way?"

I've been asked this question one too many times.
The answer is NO!!!!!
For the entire duration of a run, my trainees and I do a little something called Run/Walk. In other words, we will RUN for 5 minutes and WALK for 1 minute to recover. We do this from start to finish. We also stop to stretch about 10 minutes into the run, stop for bathroom breaks, stop to refill our water bottles or just stop if we're just plain old tired and need an extra break.
So for those of you that think I'm crazy for running such long distances or think that you yourself could never finish a race, this is exactly how I do it.
This is what will help me get through next year's training program when I brave my first FULL MARATHON!
13 MILES TOMORROW!!!! 0.1 miles short of a 1/2 marathon.
